Palm tree weather in Bitterwasser

Bitterwasser once again proved to be a mecca for gliding: under optimal weather conditions, 20 launches were recorded in one day, 16 of which covered distances of over 1000 km. The performances of Guy Bechtold and Frerk Frommholz, who won the day with 1320 km, were outstanding. Margherita Acquaderni also celebrated a milestone by achieving her first FAI 1000 km diploma and thus earning the right to plant a palm tree in the famous Bitterwasser palm allée.

Another all-round successful day!

Yesterday, many of our pilots flew 1000 km in perfect conditions and returned just in time for sunset. The evening was rounded off with a traditional barbecue and delicious food from our chef Lize van der Merve.
