The desert takes off

At 5700 meters MSL, the first warnings sounded in the computer yesterday. The vario was at the stop and the cloud base was far from being reached, but the cover of the glider flying area of Namibia at flight level 195 was approaching very quickly.

Merry Christmas

Fir trees do not grow in Namibia. Nevertheless, we didn't do without a Christmas tree in Bitterwasser. It stands a bit bony in front of the reception, but it is all the more colorful.

Always good for a stunt

The picture was already a rarity yesterday: A lonely Arcus in the sky over Namibia. The morning briefing had announced an explosive thunderstorm situation and all but one team in the gliding centers in Namibia had preferred to stay safely on the ground for the day – only Dmytry Borovyk with his student Alexander Ivoninskii not.
