The season turns up again

Anyone who thought the season in Bitterwasser would slowly end in January can rub their eyes. After the quarantine obligation for Namibia returnees was lifted, many pilots decided spontaneously for a visit.

Jeremias Kauenas (49) is a fixture in Bitterwasser. As head of the Grid Boys, he has been ensuring smooth flight operations with the flight office for years. In the new year he turned the tables and joined Reinhard Schramme in the EB28 cockpit.

They are at home at the Flying Lodge, but they belong to the pedestrians. A year ago, Lodge Manager Rodrik van Neel raised four small ostriches in Bitterwasser. The now fully grown large birds stop by the lodge every now and then.
