Always good for a stunt

The picture was already a rarity yesterday: A lonely Arcus in the sky over Namibia. The morning briefing had announced an explosive thunderstorm situation and all but one team in the gliding centers in Namibia had preferred to stay safely on the ground for the day – only Dmytry Borovyk with his student Alexander Ivoninskii not.

Afterburner

And again a thousand k day in Bitterwasser. Johannes Kammerer flies them non-stop with his Ventus 2cxM. Yesterday he immediately added another to his 25th jubilee 1000 k. A long line of convergence under a huge spreaded cloud helped to its success.

Nothing for free

Thousand kilometer flights were always in the scoring for the Bitterwasser pilots on the last few days. But they were not given to them. The wind slowed down at more than 60 kph and yesterday thunderstorms forced the pilots to the very edge of the flight area.
