Outlook on cloud thermals without thunderstorms

That was plenty, in Bitterwasser the pan is under water. In the last few days Namibia has gotten a lot of rain. It has been good for the country. Well, towards the end of the season, it's getting more gliding friendly again.

Anyone who has not lost confidence over the gray days and held out can once again enjoy Namibia in flight. Thanks to the dry, high hangar runway 09/27, flight operations are secured – perhaps for completely new perspectives on a country that has gained color. But it probably won't be as green as around Mariental, around 100 kilometers south of Bitterwasser. There the fields are irrigated from the Fishriver dammed in the Hardap Dam. The large airfield is elevated there with a long hard runway and a gravel runway running across it. In adverse weather conditions, it is the alternative place for Bitterwasser.
