Generations meeting

Does that exist in any other sport? In Bitterwasser there are generations between the oldest and the youngest pilot. The poles are made up of Bitterwasser Cup winner Eric Schneider at 20 and Klaus Reinhold at 81.

And both use the conditions for really big flights. On December 9th, Eric covered 1257 kilometers with a Ventus 3M! Wilfried Großkinsky and Kilian Biechele instructed him in Namibia. Eric has already shown how to fly 1000 k in Germany. As the winner of the OLC Junior Challenge, he achieved a thousand and a 1,100 k flight from Hammelburg with the OLC patronising Discus this year. Yes, and at the junior championship in Feuerstein, he won the club class title.
Central competitions, on the other hand, were never Klaus Reinhold's business. “But I'm still ambitious,” says the 81-year-old and counts: “In this Bitterwasser season, I've already made six flights over 1,000 kilometers. The largest flight was 1259 kilometers in 8:41 hours.” With 1.5 hours of morning exercise, running, push-ups ... he keeps himself fit for it. Klaus Reinhold started in 1955 with the first slides on a SG 38 school glider. That was 66 years ago. Klaus after so many years of gliding: "I still want to make 70 years of gliding."
Junior and senior fly separately in Bitterwasser. In the morning briefing - they only took one afternoon flight together with an EB28 edition. But they jointly discuss the possibilities that the day offers.
