The last ones are now leaving Bitterwasser

Now the time has come. The Joschko's also end their Namiba stay. Now it will be very, very empty. But the next season will come for sure.

In Bitterwasser it is as green as seldom. Who of the glider pilots can imagine that glider operation on the 09 would no longer be possible because of too high grass. On the picture Christa is standing on the 11 (Hoskia) in knee-high grass.

Soon Jeremias and his team will cut and collect the grass as fodder for the animals in worse times.

It was only a small season 2020/21 but it was very nice. There has already been a blog entry about the results.

The 2021/22 season is already casting its shadow. The booking requests are enormous. Therefore book as soon as possible at hog@bitterwasser.com

See you in the new season!

Good News

The SSN (Soaring Society of Namibia) website states that pilots holding a SPL license together with a valid LAPL medical may fly gliders with European registration in Namibia. Previously, the more complex Class 2 ICAO medical was required. The SSN point out that no definitive, valid statement can be made for neighbouring countries such as Botswana or South Africa.

For glider owners: Please check with your insurance company that this is in accordance with your insurance contract.
