Christmas in Bitterwasser – at 33°C and glorious sunshine
In Europe Christmas is usually associated with cold temperatures, early sunsets and, in the best case scenario, snow. In Bitterwasser, the world looks very different.
"I still have goose bumps," says Reinhard Schramme. He said he had never seen such great weather at the beginning of the season.
On 25.10.23, Reinhard Schramme and Elmar Erik Fischer took off for the first flight of the Bitterwasser season around 12 noon. After initial blue thermals, clouds appeared after 1 hour in the north until shortly before Rehoboth. Promising thermals!
With an average of 200 km/h at times, the two of them managed a grandiose 973 km in the end.
But that was not enough!
The following day the team flew 898 km.
This is how the season should start!
