Christmas in Bitterwasser – at 33°C and glorious sunshine
In Europe Christmas is usually associated with cold temperatures, early sunsets and, in the best case scenario, snow. In Bitterwasser, the world looks very different.
On 22.12.23 Simon Briel flew 1,412 kilometers in 9 hours and 16 minutes with the EB 28. This is the longest distance covered so far this season. With an average speed of 156 km/h, he even crossed the South African border.
Nils Fecker and Hans Ulrich Meuters did the same. They covered a total distance of 1,375 kilometers.
And Björn Ginzel also managed 1,402 kilometers two days before Christmas.
A total of 9 sailors reached the 1000 kilometer mark. All in all, one of the strongest days of the season.
All the pilots took off early from the pan and were quickly close to the clouds. The thermals were wide-ranging and developed in all directions.
What better Christmas present could there be?
