Die Pfanne hat an vielen Stellen einen Durchmesser von 3 Kilometern und ist daher sehr gut ausgelegt für Starts und Landungen. Anstatt Landebahnen enthält die Pfanne 8 verschiedene Landerichtungen. Daher kann man den Segler immer perfekt zum Wind ausrichten.
Und auch wenn die Pfanne nass ist, gibt es 2 Ausweichbahnen am Hangar.
So kommt es auch in den Abendstunden bei einem hohen Landebetrieb zu keinen Komplikationen und auch am Morgen ist ein geregelter Startablauf gesichert.
