In Namibia, the bases are often very high, making flying without oxygen unthinkable.

Pirmin Sensing prepares the oxygen bottles in the morning and evening so that everyone can take off on time.

After the really good thermal days, the shelf of empty oxygen bottles is full to the top.
The oxygen transfer pump is then working at full capacity. Pirmin can fill 5 cylinders with oxygen at the same time.
The O2 flows from 4 large storage cylinders into the small cylinders. The pump ensures that there is 200 bar in each bottle at the end.

This means that a long distance can be covered at lofty heights.

Winner Club Class

Two new world champions are heading to Bitterwasser!

The Bitterwasser Flying Lodge was the main sponsor of the Junior World Gliding Championships, where from August 2 to 17, 2026, around 80 pilots from 22 nations competed for the titles in the Standard and Club classes. The grand prize for the JWGC winners was a one-week stay at the lodge, including travel and an airplane.
