The 2025/26 Bitterwasser season is coming to an end
At around 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, the first truck carrying one of our seven containers set off. This marked the end of another impressive gliding season in Bitterwasser.
Under ideal weather conditions, the pilots were able to make full use of the thermals and achieved impressive flight performances. Many completed impressive distances of over 1000 kilometers - a highlight for the pilots, who made the most of every second of the flying conditions.
Just in time for sunset, all the pilots returned safely and the sun, which set in warm colors over the planes, provided a wonderful finale to a successful day of flying.
To round off the day, everyone gathered for the traditional barbecue. As every Saturday, Lize van der Merve took care of everyone's physical well-being with a selection of delicious starters and desserts. The fresh, lovingly prepared dishes and the relaxed atmosphere in the evening made the whole day perfect and strengthened the sense of community.
